Description:
Construction Details
1) Conductor : The conductor shall consist of strands of tinned or plain annealed copper, uniform in quality and free from defects, in accordance with class 2 of IEC 228.
2) Insulation : The insulation shall be extruded by Cross-linked Polyethylene (Type “XLPE” of IEC Pub. 60092-351) compound complying with the properties specified).
3) Tape : The tape shall be used cotton yarn, synthetic fiber, plastic, etc. and not contain such substance which are liable to have bad effects on other materials comprising cables.
4) Filler : The filler shall be used rubber cord, plastic cord, cotton yarn, synthetic yarn or non-hygroscopic materials and not any bad effects on other materials comprising cable.
5) Inner sheath : The inner sheath shall be of Halogen Free Thermoplastic Compound (Type ‘SHFI’ of IEC Pub. 60092-359) complying with the properties specified.
6) Armour : The wire braid Armour shall consist of Copper alloy Wire for single conductor cable or Galvanized Steel Wire (GSW) for multi conductor cables. The diameter of Armour wire shall be not less than the minimum value given in following table when determined by means of a suitable micrometer and by taking the mean of two measurements at right angles made at the same cross section at least 5mm from one end of a sample of wire.
The measurement shall be made prior to the application of the wire to the cable.

7) Outer sheath (protective covering) : The outer sheath shall be extruded by Halogen Free Thermoplastic compound (Type SHFI of IEC Pub. 60092-359) compound complying with the properties specified.
